Here it is … Senior year, what we’ve all been waiting for since we entered high school. Our last of everything, last first day of high school with all our friends, last first game for sports, last homecoming, last bell game and our last prom it’s a bittersweet feeling. It’s exciting to think that next year I will be graduating with my class and going onto the real world. I hope to make this year the best one yet.
So it’s week 5 of senior year. I’m currently on pace and doing my best to stay like that. For my senior project I am working on my journal and wanting to start my job shadow. I did one last year but my last years english LF lost track of my papers, so I am planning on doing another one. Something interesting about senior project are the journals and something exciting I think is the job shadow. It’s cool to learn how some people do their job even more when what they do it what you want to do in the future. I want to become a physical therapist & hope to job shadow one.
What I’m looking forward to senior year is all the fun events such as football games, homecoming, prom, senior sunset etc.. We’ve already had our senior sunrise. It was nice being with the whole class together waiting for the sun to rise. As the sun was rising we were taking pictures together as a class and with all our friends. When we were all done we left to get some breakfast together, it was a good time.So This year I am on the cheer squad and I am excited to cheer at the football games and watch the team play. It’s really exciting to watch the intense games, it makes standing on the sideline even more fun. I’m also excited to play soccer, it will be my last year playing soccer for lindsay high school. My past years playing on the team have been really fun. I met new people and made friends while being on the team. I have played my sophomore year, junior year and now I will be playing my senior year. I’m also planning on running track. I did it my sophomore year and I really liked it. I love to run and do sports so it works out perfectly. The sports keep me busy but I always manage to get my school work done first.
My goal for my this year is to finish all my classes and graduate. Another goal is to be involved in all the events going on since it will be the last time I get to do so. Since I am on the diploma track after high school I want to continue my education by going to college to be able to transfer. I want to attend COS finish some common courses and then transfer to a 4 year university. I hope to accomplish all my goals.

Journal 2 // First Semester Ending
A couple things have already occurred that I mentioned in my first journal. Events like homecoming and the bell game. Something pretty cool that happened was that I was a nominee for homecoming queen. I was nominated by Art club, dressed up for all the dress up day, and got to participate in the activities. I made it as far as top 10. It was a fun experience, and my last homecoming week overall was very fun. After homecoming week a couple weeks after we had bell week coming up. It was so exciting because of the dress up days ASB came up with really good dress up days. Lots of people dressed up for all the day everyone was getting pumped for the game. The school spirit was legit. Unfortunately we weren't able to win the bell back, but the football team looked like they tried there best. It was really fun cheering for the game though it was one of the loudest games from all season. The student section was pumped and the bleachers were packed. It was exciting my last bell game and I was able to cheer for it my senior year. Definitely going to miss those friday night lights.
Since football has came to an end I am now finished with cheer and am moving on to soccer. Since cheer is now moving on to basketball and basketball and soccer are at the same time I am not able to cheer so decided to stop cheering and move on to soccer. Although I would’ve liked cheering for basketball and finish the full cheer season I’m happy with the decision I made about going out for soccer. About two weeks ago I played my last first scrimmage for soccer. I love the sport so much it keeps my mind off school for a bit and I have fun while being competitive at the same time. I have been announced Varsity captain by my coach Freddie. In a couple of days we will be starting league. I hope our season to be good one, and make it far.
Also first semester is already coming to an end and I am doing my best to complete my work for my classes. I am enjoying the fact that in a couple month we will be graduating. Most of the fun events have already occurred so now I’m really focusing on being on top of my school work, even though procrastinating does take over a few times. I need to stop pushing things off for last minute. For example my journals and other essays for other classes. Another thing, I have applied to COS now. One step towards preparing myself for post-graduation life.

Journal 3 // Semester 2
Winter break has come to an end, it was fun while it lasted. There is a couple of weeks left until my first semester of senior year is over. Over the break I was working all week and after work I would head out to my soccer practices so I stayed busy over the break. Over the break I also got to hangout with friends and family. I went up to the mountains as a mini trip. It was a really nice trip the scenery was very pretty and the mountains and trees were covered in snow. We’ve passed winter break and in two weeks we will be starting our second semester.
Before graduation I will accomplish the goal I set for myself at the beginning of the year. Staying on pace in my classes is something really important for me now so I am doing my best to do so. I have been doing well in all my classes I have turned in all my assignments to pass first semester. And now I have passed first semester 7 out of 7. Staying up late was worth it.
Since I am only going to COS I didn’t apply anywhere else so I’m not stressing about applying to schools. If everything goes as planned I will be attending COS next fall. I have just taken my placement test at COS. When I went to take the placement test I went on my own and walked around the campus it’s so much different than high school. The atmosphere was nice. It made me even more excited to start school there. Now I have to talk to my counselor to help me sign up for my classes.
Also since I will be staying here to go to school I have been going out looking for a job. Right now I am working on the weekends at my dad’s work. It’s nice working there but I really want to go and find myself another job that's not just on the weekends. The process of looking for a job on my own has been difficult. I have applied everywhere but I haven’t had any luck.

Journal 4 // So Close..
Am I nervous about graduation? I am definitely not, I am super excited to be finished with my 4 years of high school. I am ready to meet new people and continue my education. I am practically counting the days until graduation. This is the last time I will be a Lindsay High School student and I can’t believe how quickly these four years have gone by. Theres times where I think I can’t do it and moments where I want to give up but I’ve come a long way and I believe that I am able to finish. I like to compare life with running without motivation you won't be able to complete that journey. It won't be easy and there will be bumps on the road but if you set your mind to it you can conquer anything. I like to think of myself as a self motivated person having other people motivate me is just a plus. My friends and family have been a big part of my journey throughout high school they have pushed me to be a better me to make the right decisions.
This year has taught me that I am a strong person and that the bumps on the road is just a part of life and that when you have the right kind of people beside you you won't feel them as bad. This year I have had many troubles but I have manage to cope with them. All there is to do now is move forward and focus on my future and achieve all the goals I have set myself. The first one being graduating from high school. Then comes my education after high school and start my career. High school has gave me so many memories I will cherish forever. The friendships I have made, meeting my boyfriend who has also become a huge supporter in my life along with my family. I appreciate all the teachers who have helped me throughout high school as well.
And now we wait until June 10th.
